We're Back....psnob's New York Trip!

Good afternoon psnob supporters!

I am very excited to share this particular psnob newsletter and I am sure that it is also a much anticipated newsletter for all of the psnob subscribers.

Just this past Monday I was in New York city at the Henri Bendel Open See event on 5th avenue. I had the privilege of attending this event with a friend of mine named Stephanie who was willing to battle the cold and stick it out for the love of fashion with me. I have to admit, I am still trying to come down from the high of this experience and I am so fortunate that I was able to attend.

From the day I left Atlanta to head to NY I was a nervous wreck. I didn't know what to expect. It was actually quite funny...I was pretty erratic.

I would like to share my adventure with all of you so I hope you enjoy!

Day 1 -Friday October 24th-

  • I made sure to get my hair done. I didn't want to look a mess while presenting to Henri Bendel. -My friend Mellisa was so kind to hook me up, Dominican style, for my big day!
(4 hours of styling needed, I have A lOT OF HAIR)

  • Made arrangements for a pet sitter for my dog Alpacino. I had to get three different neighbors to pet sit. One of my neighbors asked me. " How do you work the leash again." Now I'm really nervous.
Day 2-Saturday October 25th-

  • $50.00 in cash to last me for three days in New York...(no really...$50.00)
Called a cab from my house to get to the train station in Atlanta (Cab fare $11.00)
  • Purchased my round trip train ticket for $4.00 .
  • Got to La Guardia Airport at 9am
Headed out to baggage claim where the wind kicked my butt. My hair was pretty much all over the place. As I tried to find a hair tie, it kept getting worse.
  • Stephanie is on her way from Maryland to meet me at our hotel in New Jersey. She is running late because she got caught is severe weather. She called me
several times mentioning all the people who hydroplaned and was off in a ditch, but she was still on her way.
  • Stephanie and I attempted to get a "good night" sleep. I am still very restless and unable to stop thinking about the event on Monday. Stephanie had
no trouble at all getting her "sleep on".

Day 3- Sunday October 26th-

Stephanie and I wake up fairly early to hit the streets of Manhattan. Stephanie wanted to hit some high end boutique's as well as for me me to get some practice on speaking to store owners and buyers.

          • Spent nearly two hours looking for a parking spot.
          • Had my first taste of Hallal. A dish Stephanie suggested we eat. Great suggestion. Rice, Chicken, vege's and salad all for $4.00
          • Had to take a bathroom break from all the walking and prepping for psnob.
Got to Crate and Barrel and had a small episode. Started to cry for no apparent reason while Stephenie jokingly asked.. "What the hell is wrong with you."
          • I am laughing and pretty much crying and the same time saying "I don't know." She says.."You got this, don't worry, you got this."
          • After getting back outside and getting some air we head back to the car awaiting a $110.00 parking ticket. We both laugh.
          • We head into Harlem to visit Stephanie's family where we are greeted with warmth and love and even some great food!
          • Get back to Hotel in New Jersey at 11pm
Set clock to wake up at 2:00am
I cannot sleep...Stephanie is on her third dream

          Day 4- Monday October 27th-

          • I never went to sleep ( Been awake since Sunday morning at 9am)
Stephanie and I get dressed to head into Manhattan by 4am
          • We find parking garage on the same block as Henri Bendel ($40.00..Stephanie was so kind to cover this expense)
          • We line up and are fortunate that we are number 20 or so in line... SWEET!!
Stephanie buys Starbucks and we both get comfortable in our spot in line.

          • Stephanie sleeps....I still cannot rest ( How does she do it?)

          • 9am the doors open for the first group to present their product
We are directed into different lines and pointed in the direction of the buyer to review the product.
          • We have about 60 seconds to pitch.
          • I walk up and introuduce myself and shake the buyers hand.
            The rest was a blurrrrrrrrrr
          • The Henri Bendel open see is complete...FOR US
          • We walk outside and at least 1000 more hopefuls are waiting in line for their 60sec opportunity.
          • Officially faced a high end buyer head on, with confidence and determination.
            Got positive feedback.
          • Returned to Atlanta going more than 30 hours with NO SLEEP.

          Day 5- Tuesday October 28th-

          • Got an email from a high end boutique in New York's SOHO to carry a few bags from the Gwenny Collection. (will disclose boutique later)
          • Had an hour phone interview with http://www.purseblog.com/. They want to do a feature story on the psnob handbags.
Finally get some sleep. Well, sort of...wanted to type the psnob newsletter!

I must say that this was one experience I will never forget. I definitely learned more than I could have ever imagined. For the past year, things have been so challenging, but have
been determined to see psnob shine. I see its growth, I envision things that I want to create, I can vividly see psnob becoming such a well known brand that it becomes a household name.

I love the fact that I am motivating young people and even the people who never dreamed of pursuing their dream of being an entrepreneur. I am so grateful for all of the lessons I have learned along the way.

I definitely have had my up's and down's, as well as many of us. All of our lives are changing right before us. But good things are going to happen, good things are going to come about by staying positive, staying true to yourself and finding the support you may need from family and friends. I don't know how I would have made it this far without that.

psnob is what keeps me laughing, smiling, crying, painting, drawing, building relationships, ended a few and most importantly, keeps me grounded.

Thank you so much for every single person who helped me make this trip to New York a success. I even returned to Atlanta with three whole dollars!!!! Now that's making your money stretch.

I am truly proud to be a psnob!

          Research....Research.....

Good Morning to all psnob.com's newsletter subscribers!

We all love a good update and psnob checks in with us in her own words.

"It has been a very interesting few months, even a very interesting few days. From the election, to the economy, it seems as if everyone is in stress mode...including myself. I still try to find time to be "creative" for that is what keeps me energized and focused.

I have been taking some much needed time to come up with new ideas for future collections and concepts. I have also been preparing for the Henri Bendel Open see the end of this month. I will be sure to post pictures of the event once I return.

One reason I wanted to post this particular newsletter is because of a lot of recent research I have been doing in the past few months on "hand painted" handbags. I definitely wanted to share."

"Be sure to read, pass along to other's that may be interested, and comments are always appreciated. Thank so much for the ongoing support and I will be sure to keep everyone in the know!"

PLEASE READ ENTRY BELOW: Letter addressed to the Founder of Purseblog.com in response to the article written..."Prada Fairy Bags Bleed"

          Meaghan, How are you?

In early spring I sent you a press release regarding a new line of handbags called psnob (snob). I believe you were going to do a write up, but not sure if covered it or not. The reason for my email is because I was browsing the Internet and landing on your blog. I saw the write up "Prada Fairy Bags Bleed".http://www.purseblog.com/prada/prada-fairy-bag-bleeds.htmlIt struck a cord because I have been designing, perfecting and protecting my line of handbags for years.

Even though I started my business about eight years ago,it took just about that long to figure one of the most crucial elements of a hand painted handbag. Any handbag that is made from a water based medium will be a challenge to make truly functional. Yes, in the beginning, hand painted handbags are aesthetically beautiful but what about the wear and tear? For years I did not launch the collection because I knew this was something that I had to NAIL so to speak. A company and brand as big as PRADA took a chance to make a handbag with artwork. Why? because people are tired of being hustled, they are tired of investing in brand name handbags that end up being mass produced or horrible knock offs. So what are these large designers options...go with an "art bag"....even commission an artist to put his/her work on the map by putting their creation on a "handbag"...but be careful...if you are in the business of making handbags and NOT creating art, you will be in trouble...YOU CANNOT MASS PRODUCE FINE ART AS A HANDBAG ACCESSORY UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

As an artist, I decided to get into fashion because I knew that I could create a product. I wanted to still paint, but would I ever be discovered at my local art gallery?Would I have to wait for a tragedy to become "famous"? Or maybe if I was lucky, Louis Vuitton and or Prada may have cut a deal with me I couldn't refuse.Well, lets just say, that didn't happen and I had to create my own empire, but I had to start somewhere and when I knew I had a secret that would put me on the map...I decided I would take my secret to the grave. psnob has tapped into a market where people are not seeing the value, intricacy of what a psnob handbag really is (just yet). It took over two years for me to create the special coating that makes a fine art piece "functional". No running, no bleeding, no cracking, no gimmicks...just the opportunity for fine art to be taken to another level. The opportunity for a person who may not even care much for art end up having a new appreciation. Or maybe the art enthusiast who never imagined carrying a fine art piece that looks like it should be hanging on their living room wall. The smaller, unknown companies like myself get hardly any credit when knowing what I have created is genius.

I have much respect for the major labels...they motivated me and set the bar.....but what's business without a little competition? If only the psnob handbag could get in the right hands, if only someone would take a moment to see the true beauty and thought that went into creating a product that would offer another niche to this already saturated market of same ol' same ol'. Indeed, there are a select few who have truly noticed what psnob is and what it will become, but I still have a ways to go and an entire market to reach. I just wanted to personally send you a note from the heart. Not a fancy press release, or a email from my "publicist"....I am just an artist trying to fit in this world of fashion.....but in my own way.

Thank you so much and I hope to hear back. Sincerely, Rebecca "The original psnob"

          For Immediate Release

Art Never Goes Out Of Fashion
Inspired By Art, Local Designer Defines Fashion from A Different Perspective

Atlanta, Ga. (July 23, 2008) – Art and fashion has always gone hand in hand. In fact, many famous fashion designers have been inspired by the works of Andy Warhol, Picasso and Matisse. Now Atlanta is home to another designer whose work is inspired by fine art.

Rebecca Robinson, tee shirt and handbag designer has created the Gwenny Collection. A series of hand painted clutch bags designed to be worn casually or formally. In 2001, psnob®, the name under which the Gwenny Collection is branded, began from a simple idea while Rebecca lived in Delaware, and now eight years strong, has flourished into a fashion business.

The collection features three categories of fine art: Prima (one of a kind), Imprimatur (limited edition print) and Uitima (specifically designed and hand painted). Each Gwenny bag is carefully created and designed with acrylic on canvass. In order to maintain the bag’s true aesthetics, Rebecca emphasizes the beauty of its texture and three dimensional qualities, that only a painting can exhibit.

The concept behind psnob® (pronounced, snob) is evolution; the evolution of realizing one’s self. Being a psnob® represents a way of life, expression, and self explanation, and that never goes out of style. In other words, it’s a movement where women embrace courage, passion, determination and the power to reach any goal; and now, women can now wear their expression in the form of a psnob® tee shirt. The two styles, “psnob® copyright” and “proud to be a psnob®” are 100% cotton, and also features original hand painted artwork with acrylic on canvas.

Through Rebecca’s designs, whether a tee shirt or clutch bag, her goal is to embed the message of being strong, courageous, and bold; the art of individuality. For more information on psnob® and how to make purchases, log onto, http://www.psnob.com/. Articles about psnob® has been written about in more than a dozen media outlets including; Atlanta Sunday Paper, the Indianapolis Recorder, Skirt Magazine, stylehive.com, handbagdesigner101.com, and thebaglady.com.

Shop now through September 5, and a portion of proceeds from the sale of psnob® tee shirts will go to Hands on Atlanta, Gusto event, “A Taste for Volunteering”, September 5, 2008. For more information on Hands on Atlanta or Gusto, log onto, http://www.handsonatlanta.org/.

          "The Evolution of psnob"

          Good morning,

A lot has been happening in these past few weeks and psnob wants to be able to keep everyone posted as well as keep on schedule with upcoming events.

This weeks newsletter is one of psnob's favorite. "The Evolution of psnob".

Seven years strong, psnob has grown into a unique and amazingly designed and constructed handbag that is not only a classic accessory, but a functional piece of artwork, but it wasn't easy.

psnob designer Rebecca Robinson explains in detail how the psnob handbag came to be. It has definitely been an Evolution.

          EVOLUTION OF PSNOB

          Fall/Winter 2001

How did you make your first psnob handbag?

"When I first started creating the psnob handbags, I did everything from scratch. The process was somewhat different then. I use to take raw canvas and cut it and sew it into a handbag prior to painting. It was a lot harder because I had to really be careful with my technique and try to keep it as neat as possible. But with any water based medium, you will run into a few problems, but it still gave me motivation to perfect it.

This photo shoot of the "first" bags was the actual day I realized something very crucial to the process of the psnob handbag. It was very cold that day and as we were beginning the shoot the bags that were to be used started to show some cracking. The shoot had to continue, but it was definitely necessary to figure out out to prevent this from happening if the psnob bags were going to be an accessory that could last wear and tear."

So after you realized the handbag began to crack, what did you do to prevent this?

" I began playing around with different coatings that could be compatible with acrylics. It took a couple of years for me to nail it down, but the concoction I created is still a trade secret. I truly believe the coating is what makes psnob handbags different from any other handbag on the market. It allows the artwork to keep its true three dimensional qualities and texture while also allowing the handbag to be flexible, water proof, fade proof, and most important...crack resistant."

What were people's reactions to the first handbags?

"People really liked them, they thought they were "different".I attempted to make a variety of styles, but the craftsmanship wasn't as perfect as I had wanted it to be. I was cutting and sewing every bag and it was becoming very difficult and time consuming. About a year or two later I started doing research on possibly having handbags sewn professionally. My idea at that time was to provide the same canvas but have the contractor sew each bag in advance before I painted on the blank handbag."

First specs. Tote, portfolio bag, tool bag, hobo, clutch.

"Even though painting on the handbags that were previously sewn was a lot more convenient. They still didn't have the design and look I was aiming for. I still love those bags, but I didn't want the handbags to be put in an "arts and crafts" category. I really wanted to to be recognized as fine art pieces."

Based on your decision to really want to create art pieces, how did you decide to transform the handbags and how did you pick your niche market?

"I really just kept painting on the handbags I had and showing them as much as I could. I remember the very first public place I had my handbags was in an art gallery right down the street from my house in Delaware. It was my first exhibit. People loved it and hearing the positive reaction I just kept making more plans and sticking to my goal of really making psnob into something special. The first gallery exhibit was actually a great way to market. I knew my niche market would be people who had an appreciation for the arts as well as would embrace a new fashion accessory."

You've done a number of art gallery exhibits. Explain how the art pieces with the handbag attached to the canvas came to be?

"When I moved back to Atlanta, I was fortunate to meet a few gallery owners who wanted to exhibit my work. We were trying to figure out the best way to convey to the public that the handbags were truly works of art. The concept was to attach the handbag to blank pieces of canvas and paint the entire piece. I wanted to really emphasize it was one in the same. Even the handbags that were attached and painted to the canvas were removable and could be worn.

The title of the show was Trompe Loiel..meaning "trick the eye"

Your new collection is a clutch design, why did you choose this particular style of handbag?

"The reason behind me doing the clutch bag was an actual emotional decision. They were actually the most popular of all the collections I had done in the past. The clutch was definitely a symbol of what people recognized as psnob's signature handbag.

I was asked to do another art show years later and upon submitting my pieces the gallery owner who is also a good friend of mine had a long talk with me. He mentioned the pieces I had submitted were not strong enough for the show and he knew I was capable of doing better work. He asked me how I was feeling and what was wrong with my work. I actually was grateful that he asked me those questions and allowed me to express my true feelings and how I felt I was artistically drained. I felt that I was headed no where and all of my effort was being unnoticed. I was trying so hard to make psnob into something bigger but I really needed to go back to the basics. I was trying to be bigger than I was before I was ready and the bags were losing something."

This is very interesting, what were the bags lacking?

"It's hard to explain. Even though I had dozens of pre made handbags that were sitting there waiting to be painted on, I didn't feel a connection to them anymore. I felt like they were not mine to paint. I decided to do what I did in the beginning, even if it was annoying to cut and sew each and every bag, I needed to create each and every bag with my own two hands again."

Do you think what makes psnob so unique is that you focused on the integrity of the product first?

"Absolutely. I have such an attachment to the handbags. I know each and every piece. I remember what I was doing when I was painting each piece. I usually listen to my ipod when I paint and music really influences my mood when I paint. I am just so pleased at what psnob has become and it can only get better from here. A lot of people ask me how I feel about showing the previous bags as if it would be embarrassing but I think we all have to embrace where we've been to be ready to accept where we're going. I think I've grown as a person as well as a designer. Each and every bag has a story and when someone purchases a handbag, they are carrying piece of me and a reflection of my love of art."

          Proud To Be A psnob!

          Recent update: Just published today:
          http://fashionindie.com/category/emerging-fashion/
please read and leave a comment.

          The psnob entries are in!

Hello to all of you psnob's out there! Whether you have been a psnob since the beginning, or you're a new to the psnob movement, it's all a positive direction to embracing the unique you.

Last week psnob touched on the importance of "Giving Back" and we asked people to submit their stories about why they are "proud to be a psnob." The emails flooded in and psnob is proud to share a few of the stories of those who took the time to submit an entry. We had such a huge response, psnob is going to share a few stories a week. If you would like to get on board and share your psnob story please email your entry to givingback@psnob.com

Why I am proud to be a psnob....

" When I first heard about psnob it was about three years ago. I was browsing on myspace and I stumbled on the site. I was really compelled to read more about what being a psnob was all about. At first I assume like others that psnob was something negative, but I realized it was just the opposite. I realized that I too could walk with my head high and be proud of my individuality. I am so glad that there was someone took the risk to show the world that stepping outside of the box is a challenge, but it's really worth it." -Tina Davis, Atlanta, GA.

"Your "space" itself is beautifully inspiring." - Nyuma

"I knew I was a psnob when I got to see a psnob handbag in person...it was unreal, it was something I had never seen before. I figured if I could become a part of something like this by just being myself and being proud of what makes me unique, I was in!" Natalie Christian, Miami, FL.

"I was a psnob then, a psnob now and a psnob 'til the end." Shawnda Trigg, Indpls, IN.

"Call it what you want, stuck up, confident, conceited, I think we all have a little psnob in us. So what. I am proud of it." -Nikki, North Carolina

"Every year my organization hosts an event to support inner city children who come from broken homes. We encourage children to stay true to themselves as well as have a positive role model in their lives to motivate them to focus on their dreams. We are always honored for psnob to be a sponsor." -M. Parke, Atlanta, GA.

"The first time I learned of psnob I thought it was hilarious. An old friend of mine doing what she does best. I always knew she was creative, but I thought this was a little much. Over time, I saw her diligence and dedication to building her business. I have to admit, I have a little psnob in me too." -Cameron H. Maryland

"I was at an event psnob was participating in. The tension was high and a lot of people were not paying respect to the purpose of the psnob donation. Rebecca stood her ground and expressed her intent and how she only wanted to be noted for her contribution and talent. It took a lot of courage to speak her mind in front of all of those people who seemed to mock the work. That very moment, I knew I was on board and I wanted to become a psnob too." -A Gomez, Atlanta, GA.

          The Exclusive Handbag

          psnob update:
Please click link below to read "Fashion Windows" article about psnob handbags. published 3-22-08
          http://www.fashionwindows.com/news/?p=390

Are you the type of person who always had an eye for fashion? Maybe coordinating your wardrobe was always simple for you because you added your own style and flavor to your look and people always noticed that you stood out from everyone else. The ability to be unique with your choice of dress is definitely fashion freedom.

Some people may follow all the fashion "rules" and still cannot pull off a look they copied from one of the hottest fashion magazines. The risk taker may be the one to look at a suggestion of a fashion "do", change it around and make the fashion trend into their own. There is something very liberating about making your own rules when it comes to fashion. Handbags have become a symbol of that "fashion freedom" and it is one of the most powerful accessories that ever hit the fashion world.

Have you ever invested hundreds of dollars on a couture handbag? Did you wear your designer handbag to a gathering or outing only to see dozens of other women carrying the same handbag? Have you ever visited an upscale department store and had your eye on a particular high end handbag but decided not to purchase the handbag because you already know hundreds of thousands of women will have that same purse this season?

The handbag industry is serious business and it is a shame that even the couture handbags we all know and love have to go far and beyond to protect the integrity of their designs. Fake "high end" handbags, or "knock offs" have plagued the market. It was time to introduce a handbag that would give women an option.

It is so important for people to be confident in their individuality and not be intimidated when it comes to expressing themselves. psnob is giving women the opportunity to carry a handbag that they can call their own. psnob is not only a "work of art" but a finely crafted functional handbag that separates itself from the rest. psnob is proud to guarantee exclusivity.

psnob handbags can only be purchased at http://www.psnob.com/

          psnob offers the following collections:
          Prima...One of a kind
          Imprimatur...Limited edition print

Being a psnob is a way of life, self expression and self explanation. It is also the symbol of beauty and personal style. One thing that is wonderful about carrying a handbag, a woman is able to choose a purse that satisfies a practical need as well. Handbags range in various shapes, sizes, colors and materials, but no matter what the handbag definitely is the ultimate feminine accessory.

Did you know the words "handbag and "purse" stem from the Latin word bursa and the Greek word byrsa? Matter of fact, in ancient times men wore bags first.i.e. Robin Hood. In the twelfth century the Italians created the first "designer" pouch or bag. As time evolved women began claiming the handbag, for in the sixteenth century men use to give handbags to women as gifts and improved their own means of carrying essentials...i.e. pants with hidden pockets.

The psnob Gwenny is a clutch handbag that allows a woman the convenience of holding a glass while mingling at a cocktail party, or the elegance of extending her hand while being introduced.

The clutch has previously symbolized discretion, but psnob is encouraging women to let the world see your personality, sense of fashion and appreciation of the arts and . How powerful is that!

          FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

It’s Not Just a Handbag. It’s an Investment.
PSNOB® ONE OF A KIND AND LIMITED EDITION HANDBAGS DEBUT

ATLANTA, GA., March 19, 2008 – A psnob® (pronounced; snob) handbag, is unlike any other handbag on the market. It is cleverly created from an artist’s canvas, acrylic paint, and then individually sewn to create a truly unique work of art.

A psnob® is a woman who believes in herself; a connoisseur in the world of fashion specifically in the art of selecting handbags that make her look and feel absolutely fabulous.

“Women should not have to invest hundreds or thousands of dollars for handbags that aren’t guaranteed to remain exclusive. psnob® is a handbag that enables women to express their individual style and that’s a powerful tool.” Artist Rebecca Robinson, creator and
designer of psnob® said. “I wanted to use my fine arts background in an inimitable way, and tapping into the fashion industry was an avenue that would be very rewarding.”

Most importantly, the artist wanted to maintain the handbag’s true esthetics by emphasizing the beauty of its texture and the three dimensional qualities, only a painting would exhibit. When you have the opportunity to hold a psnob® handbag for yourself, you can’t help but appreciate its intricacy and value.

Historically, handbags go back to antiquity and were used to carry necessities and valuables. Today they still have the same function, but psnob® is introducing an original product to the market. Not only will consumers carry a piece of artwork, but they also will invest in what Ms. Robinson refers to as “Functional” art. “Normally, when people invest in fine art they are limited to paintings or sculptures which are generally admired from a far. I have created artwork on a handbag that you can actually touch and use,” Robinson explained. psnob® offers one of a kind, limited edition prints as well as the psnob® Ultima, which is a custom order for the consumer who spares no expense for exclusivity and beauty.

According to Robinson, the psnob® handbag is crossing all barriers when it comes to combining art with fashion. “I am changing the negative meaning of the word through my art and one day everyone around the world will embrace being a psnob®. psnob® is a movement; a way of life, self-expression and self-explanation.” psnob® handbags are individually designed to capture the attention of art enthusiasts as well as fashion savvy women who eagerly anticipate a superior handbag that represents their individuality, distinctiveness and sophistication.

          A Few Questions Answered!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! One thing we all know for sure is when this holiday rolls around, Spring is right around the corner. Hope everyone is just as excited.

psnob has introduced its first collection during one of the best times of year...Spring!
This collection is called the "Gwenny". The colors are vivid and represent how powerful "the art of fashion" really is.

For the past few weeks psnob.com has gotten numerous website site hits and some pretty interesting questions were asked. Hopefully this break down of answers will help all of the soon to be psnob's out there understand what this movement is all about. The original psnob took a moment to fill us in...

          Q. What does Prima, Imprimatur, and Ultima mean?
          A. "As an artist and designer I wanted to create a strong brand as well as create a new meaning to something that has been done for decades. Handbags are nothing new under the sun, but I wanted to give my collection's a twist and educate people more on the art side of things. I love art, and I enjoy incorporating my fine arts background with designing unique handbags and if I can get people to gain more interest in the arts it makes everything I do worth it."

Prima is derived from the word Primo, meaning first. "Every painting I do is a first. Whether I decide to keep it a one-of-a-kind, or make it a series of prints, it all starts with the very first painting. A Prima will always be the highest in value as well as the original."

Imprimatur is derived from the Latin meaning "Let it be printed".
"Creating a print allows me to do reproductions of an original painting. If you notice in the word Imprimatur the word PRIMA is within the word....imPRIMAtur. This is a good example that even with a print, it has to start out as a Prima."

Ultima is derived from the word Ultimate.
"I honestly felt the word "custom" is overused and I wanted to create a word that meant something more meaningful to the consumer who would spare no expense by have a painting or handbag designed to their liking....now that's pretty Ultimate!

          Gwenny Collection
"My middle name is Gwendolyn. I was named after my father's mother. I wanted to honor her by naming my first collection in her name...the Gwenny. The Gwenny will always be the signature clutch."

          Q. Can you buy just a painting?
          A. " Yes. Eventhough I specialize in creating one of a kind handbags, I still love to paint on canvas. A consumer can even purchase a framed print that matches their handbag."

          Q. What does the word psnob really mean?

A."The word snob seems to always mean something negative but I honestly felt that I had a lot of qualities people would label as being a snob. I really wanted to change that negative meaning and create a movement where people would embrace being unique and think outside of the box. psnob is a way of life, self expression and self explanation, its all about you being happy in your own skin."

          Q. How did you come up with the concept of designing artwork on handbags?

          A. "People ask me that all the time and it's really hard to say how I came up with the idea. I think as an artist, I come up with all sorts of ideas and concepts, the fun part is just seeing it come to life. I knew that I loved to paint but I also knew it was important to create a product that would hit a niche market. Over seven years ago handbags were a hot item, but as everyone has seen, handbags have become a major craze. I think sometimes we all just get that "ah ha" moment and it's for us to claim and own it. I am so thankful that I am the original psnob because there is so much to look forward to."

          Q. What can we all look forward to seeing from psnob in the future?

          A. "Well, I don't want to give away too much but the next collection will be for the teens and I didn't forget about the more conservative mature consumer who has a little psnob in them. I even have the guys covered, so this should get pretty interesting."

Well, you heard it from the Original psnob herself. But we were eager to hear what we could expect for the next collection. Guess we'll have to wait to hear more...

Be sure to stay tuned for our next newsletter!

          Today's Fashion Tip:

Basic black is always a plus in any woman's wardrobe. You can get super creative or keep it simple. You can give black a little punch by mixing a little color or make your black stand out by adding some edge. Geometric patterns or shapes will definitely create a ultra couture look.
Tropical colors are in this spring and summer, so bring the islands to you! Not in to a lot of color or drama, try getting creative with your wardrobe with what is called "Ethic" accessories. Eclectic details like patchwork, fringes, and wood carved bracelets can add some culture to your style.

          Today's Advice:

Spring is the time where we get rid of the old and we welcome the new. Take a weekend to go through your closet and separate all of that old stuff. You and I both know it's a bunch of clutter, stuff we don't even wear anymore, or things we just keep hanging on to.

Start going through those old clothes that are out of style and don't fit and get rid of it already!!
Better yet, grab a few boxes or trash bags and take the old and make them new for someone else. Your local Goodwill store or Salvation Army will be more than happy to take your old clothes off your hands...and its a tax write off!!

Find your local goodwill store here: http://locator.goodwill.org/
          Salvation Army: http://www.salvationarmy.org/

Have a good week...and CLEAN THOSE CLOSETS!!
